Nostalgia

I chopped off all of my hair :) I was definitely inspired by Marion Cotillard's 40s inspired hairstyle from inception and the cover of Vogue. Every year or so I cut my hair short and every time an hour later i'm missing my long hair but not this time! This hair style is just too much fun :)
Thanks to Hailey for convincing me to go through with it!

Lovely Shoes

While we were in Santiago, I found heaven. There was little feria (market thing) near Santa Lucia and I was just wandering around with Nico and Hailey. Then, we come across a stand full of HANDMADE shoes! I had a heart attack for about ten minutes until decided I didn't think I wanted to spend all that money... so we moved on and found the other piece of heaven called the amazing crepe stand! (nutella, banana, and raspberry crepes.... mmmmmmmmm).
After the heavenly crepes I just kept thinking about the shoes. We went back and spent twenty minutes figuring out the size difference (its hard okay) and which ones would make me the happiest and it seemed that the red paisley ones in the left corner were destined to be mine :) and yes, that is alpaca fur on the inside to keep my toesies all nice and toasty.
They will forever be my darlings and I wish I had a good picture of me wearing them. When it turns winter here in the northern hemisphere you will be seeing them a lot!

What Happens When You Get Hit by a Car

Don't be alarmed! No one got hurt! My sister just has always known she was destined to get hit by a car while riding her bike since she's a major spaz... and guess what happens while i'm visiting her? That's right a 30 year-old woman driving a jeep runs into her.
Thank goodness the lady felt horrible and drove her home. Then my sister's roommate and I quickly became medical team Jancy (joslyn/nancy) and fixed her right up! and yes that is a cut up pad made into an awesome bandage (you have to get creative with little resources).

Love of My Life

I found my dream wedding. No joke! I found this perfect quaint romantic park a while ago in the gorge that i fell in love with. I imagined having my wedding there and how perfect it would be. Then today as i was browsing pinterest, i found my wedding here. I know its mainly about the cupcakes but look at the surroundings! It's perfection I tell you!
I also found this nice idea for a buffet table.
I'm a little obsessed with marriage right now... it sounds ridiculous, i know. I just can't help myself and I figured I should post twice in a row for once in my life AND about something a little lighter than protests and what not...
Have a lovely day!

P.S. I'm giving the blog a new look soon the jazz things up a bit. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, i'm alive and finally HOME

Hello all! I'm finally home! Technically i've been in the states for a week now but I haven't really been at my house. Our flight from Santiago was cancelled so we had an extra day to hang out in our awesome hotel and go crazy! Good times... Anyway, we arrived in DC last Monday morning, hurried and took a shower, worked on our presentation, had a workshop, gave our presentation (ours was the best I would say), and then partied it up all night since Hailey and I did NOT want to be in our nasty hotel room... and then left the next morning for good old Washington state. By the way, it should not take 11 hours to fly from DC to portland... stupid layovers. We were pretty out of it when we got home (don't ever go four days with only 8 hours of sleep) but Sarai surprised the heck out of me by being at the airport. We had planned on it but I had forgot and didn't really think it would happen. So loopy me was walking up to where our parents were and I started freaking out and saying "i see my parents! i see my parents! wait, who's that taking pictures? SARAI!!!!!" (run and tackle)
I'm happy to be home but a big part of me wishes I could be back in Chile with the gang. It's hard to be alone without ten people to cuddle... It was an amazing experience though that i will never forget and i'm so grateful i got to go!

last meal in valparaiso :(
family huddle!

we named them parker and luis :)

If this is us cuddling while standing, just imagine when there's a couch.

Fall Wishlist

For me, fall is all about running through leaf piles with rain boots and a skirt on, and taking a million pictures of the sky, and hot chocolate cups in mittened hands, but no heavy winter coat cause it's still fall, and tights with a cozy sweater will still suffice. I'm just so excited for fall, and all the yummy smells, and the corn mazes, and the halloween parties! I really just love that time of year....I know most of you are killing me for wishing this, but I want it to come faster! I don't want to wait until mid-september, or later, for the temperature to start dropping! College among the crunchy leaves and RM's....delightful ;)

Anyway, all of the delightful lil things on this list make me feel like fall is just around the corner, which it is, and they just make me want fall to hurry up even faster! Enjoy my picks!

I think this color is just divine, and so fall-ish

I feel like all my shirts would benefit greatly during fall if I had a skirt like this.

No reason...I just love them :)

These little boots having been haunting me for too long...they'll probably be the first thing I buy on this list, because I think I can wear them with pretty much anything

I've just always wanted a little trench coat to call my own...
It might have something to do with Breakfast at Tiffany's though ;)

This blouse has endless possibilties, and I would layer it or wear it alone so many different ways....this might be on the actual purchase list also

So classy and classic, I think I could wear this with almost anything

Aaaaand

8, 9, 10, and 11

just some lovely lil dresses :)
I think dresses and skirts with tights or knee socks are the perfect things for fall...
I'd rather wear them every day than wear pants personally

I'm hoping to at least get the shoes, blouse, and blazer! Maybe a dress too? If you know anyone who wants to give a present to a random blogger, hook a sista up ;)

And enjoy your last days of summer, cause I am praying for fall to come early this year ;)

My sister's are the best. I know that many of you out there will argue that, and I understand. But for reals. My sisters are the craziest chillen on this side of the Mississippi, it's ridiculous. They coerced me (it wasn't that difficult) into going to see the Glee 3D concert Movie with them....
and you know what?
it was surprisingly awesome. It wasn't just them singing, there were interviews with fans, one of which was the cutest little boy I've ever seen in my life! He was so precious :)

Anyway, being home and hanging out with my sisters has made me realize how much I miss them when I go to school. We honestly haven't fought a bit since I've been home. That's insane for us. We seriously fight every ten minutes normally. Maybe being away for two months has changed that? Who knows....

Drinkin My Smart Water

This is me....

Drinking Smart Water in the Daily Universe!
I completely forgot to blog about this, which is ridiculous! Anyway, I was in the Cougar Eat, with my guy friends, when this lady with a camera walks up and asks if she can take a picture of me drinking my smart water for the daily universe. Holycowyes! I'm pretty sure I remained calm on the surface...but let's be real here: kind of exciting
BYU won the Stone Cold Sober award for the 14th year in a row, and I was chosen to grace the article with my loveliness ;)

You can read ALL about it here.

Enjoy :)

Where Have You Been?!

Outfit Details:

My brother, Sean, is my best friend. Nancy is my best friend who isn't a sibling, but Sean and I have been best friends since he stopped punching me in the stomach and I stopped throwing underwear at his head. It's been a long time since I've seen him though. For the last two years he's been serving a mission for our church-The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in Nevada, and I couldn't be more proud of the little jerk! He's such a wonderful person, and I've missed him more than I thought was possible. He knows how to drive me insane better than anyone else in the entire universe, but he also knows that we can get in his car (the mustang) and drive around with the windows down, singing as loudly as we possibly can, to the most obnoxious songs that we can possibly come up with. We're a crazy pair :)

I personally cannot believe that it has been two entire years since I've seen him! I was terrible at writing letters, cause I'm clearly a complete brat. Buuuutt he forgave me. I don't think he was that upset to be honest. But he did miss me. He even told me. Ha. Haha.

That's Seany-bo-bonny getting off the airplane. Whatta stud ;)

ALSO, my other best friend, Nancy herself, came home from Chile yesterday! I went to the airport with her parents to see her, and it was such a fantastic moment! She looks over, sees her parents, and starts saying, I see my parents! Then, right as I'm taking pictures, and she's walking towards her parents, she says "who's taking pictures?", then she said real loud, SARAI, and ran to give me the biggest hug I've ever experienced from her! I thought for sure she was going to knock me down, but luckily we're about the same height/weight, so she couldn't do too much damage! We spent the night talking about our lives thus far, and catching up. It has been far too long :(

But I'm so glad she's home. Even though I only get to see her one more time before I go back to school. Dang school. Gotta love it though.

Breakfast Pizza

Outfit Details:
Blouse-Forever 21

I'm ridicuously happy to be at home. Yeah, I'm more obnoxious here, and I can't just go out at two in the morning like I did at BYU....
But I'm okay with that because it means I'm with this crazy menagerie that I call FAMILY. We're silly, it's true...
But, on exciting news, my best friend, NANCY, the coconspirator of this lil bloggy blog is coming home TONIGHT. I'm obsessed with caps lock today, as you can tell. Anyway, she's coming home, I'm kidnapping her from the airport, and I don't care if that's not nice....I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

I'll have to be mindful of those airport security people though....they just take everything so seriously now don't they. I'm sure they wouldn't take kindly to me waving duct tape and ropes around...maybe I should rethink my strategy?

Also, my big brother, Sean, whom I call Seany, is coming home on Wednesday! Two years since I've seen the kid, two years! I cannot wait to see him, and tell him all the crazy stories, and listen to his crazy stories! I already set him up with a date. hehehe

I made Breakfast Pizza yesterday morning...so fun and easy! I'm sure this would take such minimal work that I could even make it someday when I have offspring! It's a piece of cake! ..or a slice of pizza! haha!
oh gosh. I'm not funny at all
