City of Salt Pt. 1

{I promise I don't take myself seriously... the gate was running away from me, and Syd got a shot right as I awkwardly looked at her while trying to pull the gate back to me...}

{Also, my best friend is such a babe}

These are only a few of the millions and billions of pictures that Sydney and I took the other day when we were in SLC. We went down simply to have a girls day. It started at Toasters, where we got the most delicious of all avocado sandwiches. Then we moseyed on over to the library, where we ended up buying a handful of delightful and fantastic books. I have a thing for books...

Then we took a kajillion pictures on the roof. It was great. Sydney makes me look fantastic, even when I'm looking a lil bit frumptastic.

After some book perusal, and a random creepy guy following us around, we chanced upon the capitol building. It was a marvelous place for a photoshoot, as you can see. And these are honestly not even close to half of the pictures we took. It gets a little ridiculous when we get together...

But, we met a strange political man there... more on that another time..

For the moment, I'll just wax poetic about how hectic and crazy my life can be. I'm looking into getting a car, and I'm starting a second job, just as finals are about to start.. why am I so crazy?

Also. That musician that I have a crush on? He's pretty fantastic. We've been talking to each other for quite some time, and we finally hung out in real life, and I must say, I've never met anyone quite like him. It's strange, how you can just be minding your own business, when everything suddenly changes, and you have to just gasp and go "oh. So that's the reason". That was a bit of a ramble. But suffice to say, I don't always make the smartest choices with men. I've been known to give people the benefit of the doubt more often than not, and it can be a bit of a challenge. But. Everything is wonderful now :)

My Nose in a Book

By George, I've done it! I got a second job. At Barnes & Noble, of all places. Thank my lucky stars, I adore that place. I'm not leaving Victoria's Secret. I just need a job to fill up hours now that school will be ending so soon.

So yup. I'm the crazy underwear book lady. Is there anything more wonderful than smelling books?

Also, I'm incredibly lucky to find such wonderful jobs.

A Crush

Flats-Forever Young

Ladies and Gents. Stare into my eyes in these photos and you will be staring into the soul of the world's WORST dancer. It's basically an award that they're giving out these days. I just got back from my jazz lab, and oh goodness sakes. How does a person who isn't clumsy at all in their normal life (we're talking walking in six inch heels guys) become the most uncoordinated person alive when dancing occurs?

It's terrifying. I'm always so awkward...

Also, can I just point out the ridiculous length of my hair in that bottom picture? I'm pulling on a strand, and it's down by my hips! What in the freak?

Also, I have a crush. It may or not be on the entire band "the Lumineers". Everything. The band, the clothes, the music, the girl, the boys. I love it all.

Oh, also, I have a crush on a person. But that's unimportant. He's just a cute musician man.

Somethin' Stupid

Nancy and I both have a tendency to take an obscene number of self-portraits. Hers are usually when she's putting off homework, and they're hilarious. She likes to post those on my wall because rarely do we have moments together to just talk.

It's a rare day when the pictures are somewhat flattering. Usually they're just entertaining. So taking advantage of good pictures is definitely a thing.

The last few days have been interesting. Developments in my life can be stressful, even at the best of times. But these weren't entirely the best of times. But I think I'm learning something. I put myself out there a lot, and sometimes that's horrifying. But I will always be grateful for courage.

Mostly I'm grateful because it turns out I can encourage others to be brave too. If things don't work out, fine. But when they do, you made this glorious decision to open your life up to new possibilities. Beautiful, don't you think? So I'm happy to be someone who cultivates bravery in all aspects of life.

And when it doesn't work out, oh well. Maybe you spoiled everything by saying something stupid, like "I love you".

But best case scenario, you made a new start for yourself.

Be. A. Brave. Soul.

This is from today. I made raspberry swirl cupcakes with cloud frosting. Delicious, guys!

I have a deep love and obsession with making baked goods. It's become a bit of a problem, to be honest. Everyone I know will get fat...

And this is from Valentine's Day! My darling friend bought me flowers because I was the lame-o girl with no valentine. Okay. that's not really that lame. But I was down. So there ya go.

And this gem is from work no too long ago. I had some less-than-savory customers who left me feeling rage and seeing red. And this was the result of that exchange..

I'm so lucky. I have the opportunity to have these beautiful and sometimes awful things in my life. I can bake, I have good friends, and I have a job! That is more than some people can say.

Right now I should be sleeping, but instead, naturally, I'm contemplating.
