City of Salt Pt. 1

{I promise I don't take myself seriously... the gate was running away from me, and Syd got a shot right as I awkwardly looked at her while trying to pull the gate back to me...}

{Also, my best friend is such a babe}

These are only a few of the millions and billions of pictures that Sydney and I took the other day when we were in SLC. We went down simply to have a girls day. It started at Toasters, where we got the most delicious of all avocado sandwiches. Then we moseyed on over to the library, where we ended up buying a handful of delightful and fantastic books. I have a thing for books...

Then we took a kajillion pictures on the roof. It was great. Sydney makes me look fantastic, even when I'm looking a lil bit frumptastic.

After some book perusal, and a random creepy guy following us around, we chanced upon the capitol building. It was a marvelous place for a photoshoot, as you can see. And these are honestly not even close to half of the pictures we took. It gets a little ridiculous when we get together...

But, we met a strange political man there... more on that another time..

For the moment, I'll just wax poetic about how hectic and crazy my life can be. I'm looking into getting a car, and I'm starting a second job, just as finals are about to start.. why am I so crazy?

Also. That musician that I have a crush on? He's pretty fantastic. We've been talking to each other for quite some time, and we finally hung out in real life, and I must say, I've never met anyone quite like him. It's strange, how you can just be minding your own business, when everything suddenly changes, and you have to just gasp and go "oh. So that's the reason". That was a bit of a ramble. But suffice to say, I don't always make the smartest choices with men. I've been known to give people the benefit of the doubt more often than not, and it can be a bit of a challenge. But. Everything is wonderful now :)

It's interesting to me. The difference between guys and girls, that is. I was talking to a friend today, and he mentioned the study that was done at Utah State (I think), and how girls always say they can be "just friends" with a guy, and guys always say no, they can't. I just think it's fascinating. On any given day, I could name multiple men who I am just friends with, and who I assume would feel the same way about me. But then this friend pointed out that guys put girls and guys into different categories. As women, we can put everyone into the same category. Guys and girls can be our best friend that we never have any sexual or romantic feelings for, despite the kinship we do feel. But men don't put any women into the same category as men. So that's intriguing...

Well. That conversation changed my perspective on pretty much all of my male friends...

The other thing that was on my mind today was my post from Sunday night...

I'm mildly (or majorly) embarrassed. It seems that my dramatics may have caused either amusement, or alarm in people. I promise, i'm the most dramatic person alive. I have no spectrum for emotional scale, so everything is "theworstthingthathaseverhappenedtome". End of story. So I hate when people think that I'm really just this crazy. I know it might seem like I'm full of psycho emotion, and that everything is the end of the world. But I use strong language on here. Exaggerated. Absolutelypositivelyalways. I'm obnoxiously dramatic. It should go without saying that I assume that I can say what I need to on this blog, without the awkwardness of in-real-life consequences, mostly because I leave out names and details. But awkwardness is my middle name. I can't say I didn't think certain people would read this, but I suppose it just slipped my mind. I don't think I'm making much sense. But no matter. Let's just say, I apologize for any who is reading this here ol' bloggy blog and thinks I'm ridiculous/crazy. Life really isn't as bad as I make it seem...

to prove that I don't take myself too seriously, here is the most unflattering picture that Nancy just so happened to snap of me. This is disgusting guys...

Do something brave today,

Five in the Morning

You may not think that I look very impressive today. But the thing is, Diana and I stayed up until five in the morning to watch Grey's Anatomy. Again. And then we went to church, and no one would've guessed we had stayed up that late. No one has a clue that inside my brain I was imploding from tiredness, and I couldn't take in an entire word of the lessons today.... Whoopsie.

We had a great time watching our show though, so who really cares if we were basically dead today?

In other news, I got a bike on Saturday. And it was free! Now that's pretty great... It was all for a business project where our group started with a rock and traded it up until we got this bike. It cost us only an hour of door-to-door knocking! If that isn't top-notch, I don't know what is :)

I know it's a complete photo overload. Just bear with me on this...

As I've said before, I hate waiting. I hate not knowing. And right now I'm in a bit of a bind. I don't want to be pathetic, and throw myself out there, becoming an open target, opening myself to the potential humiliation, and the almost certain heartache. Yet I also don't want to be done. I don't want to be the one waiting, the one who sits by the phone, hoping that this time, this one time, I was right about someone. That's not a very fun person to be. So all I want to know, is could it be done? Could this be it?

I'm so dramatic, it's almost painful even for me to read what I just wrote...

Welp, anyway, please enjoy the beautiful bunnies that are so perfectly a part of my life right now. I think all I need is Diana, Pompeii, Iroh, and Grey's Anatomy. And Nancy. The end.

Somewhere Only We Know

Do you ever have profound moments with someone? I love those moments. When you're making a decision, or you're saying something important, or you're just simply being with each other. Those are my favorite moments. Those are the dots that connect all the little moments to the big moments, and make us all big confusing maps. I'm rambling now. But what I'm trying to say, is that I had one of those profound moments last night, with someone intriguing. And the song "Somewhere Only We Know" was playing. It hit me like a ton of bricks: sometimes the familiar seems more appealing, because it's simple. It's something we know, something we can analyze, something we can hold and feel simply by the muscle memory of it all. But sometimes, the nostalgia isn't the most important part of our lives, and we need to realize that new and exciting is as wonderful as it sounds. I miss a lot of things. And that's scary. But, upon my happenstances last night, I realized that there are new things for me to learn, new things to grow in, and new things to love. So it's alright to let them change, and it's alright to trust new people, and to let my guard down a little. Or maybe a lot. Anyway, now I'm done being obnoxious, and talking about my ridiculous life.

The end...

Also, here's a picture of me falling while Sydney tried to take my picture. ENJOY.
