I'm home!

I thought it would never happen....

But here I am! I'm helping my Mom make treats for the family Christmas day tomorrow, recording a sweet little Christmas ditty, and seeing It's a Wonderful Life with my sweet ladies. It's so great to be here. It's a busy weekend, but in the best way possible.

And I also decided to pack light, because I need to help Nancy bring things to Provo. So I'm making this trip on:

1 vest

1 jacket

1 sweater

1 tee shirt

2 blouses

1 pair of pants

1 dress

and miscellaneous accessories...

It's the first day of school, and I loved every second of it. I forgot how great school was, and I forgot how much fun campus is when people are actually all over the place. I love it when it's empty and solitary, but I also love when it's buzzing. Of course, the heat made me want to die... I'm just not a fan of heat. I'm diggin the random rainfalls that we've had, but I hate that they don't last very long. It makes me a real sad :(

I think I may have found the most peaceful and joyful activity in the entire world. Feeding ducks. I convinced Dane to go feed the ducks with me today, and I loved every second of it. Granted, the pond smelled awful, but also ducks poop in it, so whatever. It's to be expected. And it turns out nowhere on campus do they sell anything remotely resembling oats, or the like. It was weird. So we bought raisins, hoping the ducks would want to eat them. They did. I hope that was safe. If we find out the ducks died, I swear it was something else. It was basically the most wonderful thing ever though. After that we walked over to the nature trail and sat and talked for a spell. Then the kid convinced me to go bowling (!) with his ward. Disclaimer: I hate bowling. With a passion. I always look so stupid, and I just suck. Anything where I throw a heavy ball is dangerous for surrounding people. So I protested. But he wanted to show me off to the ward I suppose (that's what I tell myself at least). And we actually had fun. Not the bowling part (although I did beat his score the second round hehe), but just the hanging out part. It was blast. Practice for open mic followed. We're singing Walk the Line and Don't Worry Baby. Should prove to be delightful for anyone listening. I hope haha.

I convinced Dane to watch "The Help" with me tonight, and it was even better this time. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's inspirational, without being anti-white. Some of the stories are sad, some are good, but they're all incredible. The movie alone is amazing, but the book is even better. I'm almost done with it, and I keep recommending it to everyone who needs a good book to read. Fur rull. Just read it.

We also went to Dane's ward talent show, and I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. This guy played his recorder with his nose. It was extremely impressive. I kid not. And then this guy did a hilarious Harry Potter monologue/mash-up. So great. It was delightful, and hilarious, and there were the requisite awkward people, but even they were pretty good :)

I've been on an unofficial break for the last two days... so although I have technically been getting dressed, and I have been making a legitimate effort to look cute, I haven't been very good at outfit pictures. These are from a week ago.... so yeah.

Also, I have been watching Modern Family from the first episode since two days ago. And I love it. With all my heart. So entertaining hahaha. I can't believe I never watched it before this.

These are my sexy boots. I love boots anyway, but when I saw them at my store, I just knew I had to buy them immediately. So I did. Glorious moment people, GLORIOUS.

Also, today was lovely. It was windy, and slightly cold (cold enough that my hands kept straying inside my shirt...awk), and the leaves are just to die for. I miss home sometimes, but now that it's this amazing outside, well, I kinda like Utah more than I did before. I love BYU, don't get me wrong. But Vancouver is just the place I grew up, and the weather is perfection every day to me. The rain is so wonderful. I don't understand people who hate the rain, I truly don't get it. I want it to rain here, but fat chance of that. I thought maybe Utah would rain a lot. That was before I understood that it kinda borders the desert. So yeah. The little rain we got this summer was apparently a lot....
